Muslim states need to form united front to end Zionists' evil acts: President Raisi

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi called for the establishment of a united front by the Islamic Countries to put an end to the Zionist regime's evil actions.

President Raisi made the remarks in a telephone conversation with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday evening.

Referring to the recent developments in Palestine and expressing deep worry about the Zionist regime's criminal act, especially in breaching the sanctity of Al Aqsa Mosque, the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed hope that establishment of Islamic Countries' United Front will end Zionists' evil acts.

In his phone talk with Prime Minister Sharif, President Raisi also referred to the historical and amicable relations between Tehran and Islamabad while expressing hope for their further expansion, especially in the economic and energy fields.

"The expansion of deepening of relations and cooperation with neighboring, and especially Islamic countries is the 13th government's top priority in its foreign diplomacy," added the Iranian president.

Sharif, for his part, condemned the Zionist regime's criminal acts during the past weeks, arguing that Pakistan has always been a supporter of the oppressed Palestinian nation.

"I hope the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will establish the Islamic United Front to block the path for the continuation of the Zionists' criminal acts," he added.

The Pakistani premier, meanwhile, expressed his country's interest in further strengthening Islamabad-Tehran relations and referred to the agreements reached on launching joint economic projects while announcing Pakistan's readiness for implementing them.
